Bearings are the main components of machinery and equipment. The types of materials used for the development of bearings are different. The bearings explain the use of common materials for deep groove bearings. Deep groove bearings are the most common type of ball bearing. Analysis of four common materials for deep groove bearings

1. Material of ferrules and balls: Ferrules and balls are usually made of high carbon chromium bearing steel. Most deep groove ball bearings use the SUJ2 steel in the JIS steel grade, which is the domestic chromium steel (GCr15). The chemical composition of SUJ2 has been used as a standardized bearing material in various countries around the world. For example, it belongs to the same steel class as AISL52100 (USA), DIN100Cr6 (West Germany), and BS535A99 (UK). In addition to the above steel types, high-speed steels with excellent heat resistance and stainless steels with good corrosion resistance are also used as bearing manufacturing materials depending on the specific application.

2. Cage material: The material of the stamped cage is made of low carbon steel. Depending on the application, brass and stainless steel plates can also be used. The material of the iron cage is high-strength brass, carbon steel, and synthetic resin.

3. Dust cover and sealing ring: The dust cover is made of carbon steel as standard. If necessary, AISI-300 stainless steel can also be selected. Different types of sealing materials can be used for high temperature operation and compatibility with grease. Fluorocarbon, silicone and PTFE seals are commonly used at high temperatures.

4. Lubricant: Bearings with dust caps and seals are filled with standard grease. Different lubricants can be used according to actual requirements. Open type deep groove ball bearings use standard lubricants.
