Introduction

Four-row tapered roller bearings can accommodate combined (radial and axial) loads at low to moderate speeds. They are used almost exclusively in work roll applications such as rolling mills.

Four rows of tapered roller bearings have been successfully used in the bearing configuration of rolling mills around the world with low to medium speed rolling speeds. Because of its design, the bearing can withstand radial loads in addition to the axial loads present in such applications, and generally no additional thrust bearings are required in the bearing configuration. This means that the journal of the roll can be relatively short, and the housings on both sides of the roll can be of the same design.

Four-row tapered roller bearings are the most commonly used roller diameter bearings. This structure has a large bearing capacity and can simultaneously bear combined radial and axial loads based on radial loads. Its radial load capacity is about 2.5 to 3.5 times that of single row bearings, and it can withstand large radial loads and axial loads.
